Fitness accessories specs & selection guide materials, sizing, logo methods, packaging, MOQ and documentation
Specifying a private label accessory comes down to five decisions: material, size run, logo method, packaging and the documentation your market needs. This guide collects the reference points KnurlForge uses when quoting straps, belts, sleeves, wraps, jump ropes, band sets and swim accessories. Dimensions given are common formats buyers ask for, not product ratings.
- Nylon, cotton, polyester, neoprene, leather, silicone, latex, PVC
- How size runs are set for sleeves, belts, gloves and fins
- Logo methods by material
- Packaging, what drives MOQ, and export documentation
Materials compared
- Nylon webbing — smooth, thin for its strength, takes embroidery and labels; lifting straps, belt bodies, dip belts, handles.
- Cotton webbing — soft, textured hand; straps and traditional wraps; takes embroidery well.
- Polyester webbing and fabric — holds color well, lower stretch than nylon; straps, wraps, cap and sleeve facings.
- Elastic blends (cotton / polyester / rubber or spandex) — wrist wraps; weave density sets stiffness.
- Neoprene (CR / SBR blends, fabric-laminated) — knee and elbow sleeves, padding, ankle cuffs; thickness commonly specified in mm.
- Leather and suede (cowhide, buffalo; PU synthetic leather as an alternative) — lifting belts, gloves, premium straps; takes embossing and debossing.
- Silicone — swim caps, goggle straps and gaskets, fins, grip prints; printable by screen or pad print.
- Latex and TPE — resistance bands and latex swim caps; TPE is a latex-free alternative.
- PVC, PP, ABS, aluminum — jump rope cords and handles, ab roller wheels; aluminum can be anodized and laser-engraved.
- TPR and rubber — ab roller treads, goggle gaskets, fins.
- Magnesium carbonate — lifting chalk; liquid chalk adds a carrier specified per formulation.
Sizing and size runs
For anything worn on the body, the size chart is the product. Measurement points and tolerances are agreed on the pre-production sample, and your chart is printed only after approval. Each size is its own SKU for MOQ and packing.
- Knee and elbow sleeves — by circumference at a defined point; runs typically XS–XXL; thickness commonly around 5 mm or 7 mm.
- Lifting belts — by waist circumference where the belt is worn; XS–XXL; powerlifting formats commonly around 4 in (≈10 cm) wide and 10 mm or 13 mm thick.
- Lifting gloves — by hand circumference and length; S–XL or XS–XXL.
- Wrist wraps — by length, commonly around 12 / 18 / 24 / 36 in (≈30–90 cm), and around 3 in (≈7.5 cm) wide.
- Lifting straps — lasso straps commonly around 1.5 in (≈38 mm) wide, length per brand; figure 8 straps in 2–3 loop sizes.
- Jump ropes — supplied long (commonly ~9–10 ft / 2.7–3 m) and adjusted by the user.
- Swim caps — adult, junior and long-hair; swim fins — by shoe-size range (US / EU).
When planning a size spread, buyers usually weight orders towards the middle sizes; we can suggest a ratio, but you decide the split.
Logo methods: printing, embroidery, embossing, debossing
- Screen printing — flat colors on neoprene, fabric, silicone caps; one screen per color.
- Heat transfer and silicone printing — detailed or raised logos on neoprene and synthetic leather.
- Pad printing — small curved surfaces: rope handles, goggle frames, ab roller hubs, swim caps.
- Embroidery — cotton and nylon webbing, nylon belts, bags; priced by stitch count.
- Embossing and debossing — raised or pressed logos on leather belts, leather tabs and foam; foil stamping adds color.
- Laser engraving — aluminum handles and metal buckles.
- Jacquard weaving and molded logos — woven into webbing or elastic, or molded into silicone, rubber or plastic; economical on larger runs because of setup or mold cost.
- Woven labels and patches — sewn or heat-applied; flexible across materials.
Packaging & MOQ
Packaging options across the range: polybags with size stickers, header cards, zip or drawstring pouches, mesh bags, color and window boxes, blister cards, hard or soft cases, tubs and stand-up pouches (chalk), and bulk export cartons packed by size ratio. Barcodes and marketplace (e.g. FBA) labels are applied per SKU.
What drives MOQ:
- Customization depth — a stock design with your logo starts lower than custom colors, materials or new molds.
- Colors — webbing, neoprene, silicone and elastic have minimums per color.
- Logo method — jacquard, molded logos and multi-color prints have setup minimums; printing and labels start lower.
- Sizes — every size in a run is a separate SKU.
- Packaging — printed boxes, blisters and pouches have their own minimums; neutral polybags with a label start lower.
- Mixed SKUs — combining SKUs across categories helps fill a shipment even when each SKU is small.
MOQ and lead time are quoted per SKU on every quotation. Send your RFQ via the inquiry form.
Export documentation — general process
We do not hold out certifications or publish test reports on this site. Instead, documentation is handled per order:
- You tell us the destination market, channel and any retailer or marketplace requirements at the brief stage.
- We identify which documents apply to each SKU — examples buyers ask about include California Proposition 65 assessments and warnings, EU REACH substance information, CPSIA documentation for children’s products (for example junior swim caps, goggles and fins), latex content labeling, and SDS and shipping classification for liquid chalk.
- What can be provided is confirmed per order for the buyer’s market on the quotation; any third-party testing is arranged and agreed before production.
- Label, warning and packaging content is approved by your team before printing.
We make no medical, injury-prevention or performance claims, and we do not originate such claims for your packaging.

We do not display certification badges, publish test results or quote customer cases on this site, and we make no medical, injury-prevention or performance claims. Market documentation such as Prop 65, REACH or CPSIA (for children’s swim items) is confirmed per order for the buyer’s market on the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Which logo method is cheapest for small runs?
Usually printing, woven labels or patches, because they have low setup cost. Jacquard weaving and molded logos make sense on larger runs.
How do you keep sizes consistent?
Measurement points and tolerances are agreed per size on the pre-production sample and checked in production; your size chart is printed after sample approval.
Do I need different documentation for kids’ products?
Often, yes — for example CPSIA documentation in the US. It is confirmed per order for the buyer’s market at the brief stage.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on material, color, logo method and packaging (stock designs in neutral polybags start lower than custom colors, molded logos or printed retail boxes); lead time depends on materials, customization and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your products certified or tested?
We do not display certification badges or publish test data on this site. Requirements such as California Proposition 65 warnings, EU REACH substance declarations or CPSIA documentation for children’s items depend on your market and product; tell us what your market requires and the documentation is confirmed per order for your market on the quotation. We do not make medical, injury-prevention or performance claims for any product — ask on the inquiry form.
